The Centre of Interdisciplinary Studies is an interdisciplinary research center near Colcata, West Bengal, India. It's spin-off organisation Vrihi - the Sanskrit name of “rice” - is the first non-governmental rice seed bank for Indian farmers founded in 1997 by the Indian ecologist Dr. Debal Deb. Vrihi strives to protect the erosion of rice genetic diversity in India. The activists promote cultivation of folk rice varieties through re-establishing the vanishing culture of communal rice seed exchange.
Xenion is a human rights organisation in Berlin supporting political refugees in their daily life in Germany. They support traumatized refugees to overcome their traumatizing experiences, offer professional psychological and therapeutical help, and act as independent counselors in all social and practical situations in Germany. Xenion is not bound to any church or political instituation.

Casa do Caminho is a child centre/orphanage in Xerem, a small town near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Here, a group of abandoned children aged between 5-18 from Rio's and favelas and poor suburbia has found shelter and a new perspective. They are educated in a loving home guided by commited brazilian professionals and a bunch of marvellous, international volunteers.

Casa do Caminho Language Centre is a new language school and translation service at Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro. The language centre is a project realized in 2009 to help with fundraising for the orphanages. All course fees go 100% directly to the child centres. All international teachers are working for free as volunteers or for a reasonable salary to sustain their own life in Brazil. Language students are therefore also donators which goes well with the philosophy of the language school: help the orphanage, spread the word and give something back to the community.
Clube verde is a brand-new spin-off of Casa do Caminho in Xerem. This community project has the goal to teach children as well as the local people about organic farming, permaculture and sustainable agriculture to protect the natural environment of Xerem from further degradation. This webpage is currently under construction.
The Informatica Feminale is a summer school for women in informatics and natural sciences at the University of Bremen. The IF is a nationwide event with a history of 12 years and promotes female scientists in informatics and related sciences.
